Security Service Charitable Foundation donates $5,000 to United Way’s COVID-19 Relief Fund
Donation to fill gaps in services for children and families due to COVID-19
SAN ANTONIO, TX (October 27, 2020) — The Security Service Charitable Foundation is helping the United Way of South Texas fill gaps in services due to COVID-19. Through their $5,000 donation, the foundation is helping to provide medication, food, and clothing to children at area school districts and assist families with food security needs. Funds will also be used to provide transportation for medical appointments, job search, and social services.
“The Security Service Charitable Foundation has consistently shown that they believe in and support the people of South Texas,” said Lilly Lopez-Killelea, president of United Way of South Texas. “Their donation to the United Way’s COVID-19 fund is helping so many of our neighbors in their hour of need.”
The United Way of South Texas serves approximately 200,000 individuals in Hidalgo and Starr Counties annually. The addition of their COVID-19 fund, has allowed them to help more than 11,200 people through COVID-specific crises since April, 2020.

The United Way of South Texas has created and expanded several programs to accommodate the most pressing needs of their community during the COVID-19 pandemic.
