SSFCU kicks off New Year by providing hi-tech service to members

(SAN ANTONIO, TX (January 7, 2015) — Security Service Federal Credit Union is kicking off the New Year by offering Apple Pay™ to its members.  The technology is available for use with the Security Service Power Debit and Credit Cards.

“The digital wallet is one of the most important innovations in retail banking since the introduction of ATMs,” said Jim Laffoon, President and CEO of Security Service Federal Credit Union.  “We are thrilled to offer this new level of convenience and security to our debit and credit card users.  We believe that Apple Pay is an important innovation that our members will adopt and appreciate.”

Once activated, Security Service members will be able to pay for in-store purchases at more than 220,000 merchants using their iPhone 6 and Apple Watch.  In addition, members can use their iPhone 6, iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 3 to make purchases in participating online apps.

When using Apple Pay, Security Service members will receive all the benefits and protections – like travel rewards – that go along their credit and debit cards.
