Securityplus Federal Credit Union welcomes 600+ during free Community Shred Day, recycling 23 tons in support of new corporate ERG commitment
BALTIMORE, MD (October 10, 2023) — Securityplus Federal Credit Union is thrilled to announce the success of its recent Community Shred Day, held on September 30th, as part of its ongoing commitment of its corporate social responsibility initiatives. Over 600 community members turned out, shredding 23 tons, and reinforcing the importance of secure document disposal within our community.
This event reflects Securityplus’ dedication to environmental sustainability, data security and community engagement. “We recognize our responsibility to the environment, our members, employees, and the communities we serve. The collective efforts and commitment of our Employee Resource Groups (ERG) is a testament to our dedication to not only being a trusted financial partner, but also to fostering a more sustainable and socially responsible future. We believe that by aligning our organization with the greater good, we can strive to create a better future and make a lasting and positive impact, said Tricia Szurgot, Chief Executive Officer for Securityplus Federal Credit Union.
All documents shredded during this event will be recycled, further reducing the carbon footprint, enhancing quality of life, and promoting sustainability. Additionally, Securityplus and their corporate partners were able to further support their community by making a generous monetary donation to the Center for Urban Families, a Baltimore non-profit, community organization that works to empower individuals and families with the skills they need for long-term personal and economic success.
