Service 1st Federal Credit Union Surpasses Industry Standard, Achieves 4% Direct Mail Response Rate with ProDirect® from CSCU

TAMPA, FL (August 1, 2013) — Service 1st Federal Credit Union of Danville, PA has yielded a 4% response rate from a direct mail promotion, far exceeding the industry’s average of .2%.  Service 1st extended its credit card offer to members using ProDirect® from CSCU (Card Services for Credit Unions), a customized program that supports credit unions with start-to-finish management of the acquisition process.

“ProDirect was a valuable tool as we transitioned credit cards from an ancillary product to a main focus product,” said Jeff Balestrini, Chief Lending Officer, Service 1st Federal Credit Union.  “We needed to do a better job of getting the word out and making the card top of wallet, and ProDirect helped us to focus on the people who needed the product.”

ProDirect is a reliable, CARD Act compliant tool that automatically selects members to receive a direct mail promotion based on customizable parameters, eliminating extra work involved in qualifying members individually.  Service 1st used ProDirect to promote a credit card offer with a 1.99% introductory interest rate for six months; a competitive ongoing rate of 8.99%; and CSCU’s ScoreCard® rewards program.

“Consumers are looking for competitive interest rates and rewards,” said Doug Farrell, Senior Portfolio Consultant, CSCU.  “Once these key factors are in place, ProDirect helps credit unions reach those members who will bear a high response rate.”
