Madison, Wis. (December 5, 2011) – Credit Union National Association (CUNA) announced today that Kristen Christian, the tactician behind the enormously successful National Bank Transfer Day, will be a featured panelist for the webinar Consumers are Fee’d Up With Banks: Let’s Help Them Make a Change! The webinar takes place, December 7, 2011 at 2:00 – 3:00 CT. Registration information can be found here.

With an extensive background in activism, Kristen Christian has established herself as a powerful voice for non-profits everywhere. The social engineer behind the nationally successful National Bank Transfer Day that took place November 5, 2011, Christian has experience generating widespread support for grass roots causes. The social media strategist will share her insight on how credit unions everywhere can continue to generate positive support for the credit union difference, even after National Bank Transfer Day. Christian currently lives in Los Angeles where she works as a social media strategist and entrepreneur.

Also speaking at this webinar is 2011 CUNA Marketing Professional of the Year Amy McGraw. An industry leader in social media marketing, McGraw will provide insight into effective ways credit unions can use social media to keep up the positive momentum from Bank Transfer Day and discuss how social media campaigns for credit unions differ from other organizations. McGraw currently is the Twitter voice for the CUNA Marketing and Business Development Council and serves as Vice President of Marketing at Tropical Financial Credit Union in Miramar, Florida.

Moderating this all-star panel is Kelley Parks, a former CUNA Marketing Professional of the year and credit union movement veteran. For nine years, Parks served as the vice president of marketing and business development for Call Federal Credit Union in Richmond, VA. Kelley currently works as a creative catalyst for gira{ph}, a company that helps small to midsize credit unions differentiate themselves in the market. Parks is also a blogger for SharediDiz.com, and an editor for CUWaterCooler.com, two sites that share advice for fellow credit union marketers.

The Consumers are Fee’d Up With Banks: Let’s Help Them Make a Change! webinar is designed to address the widespread consumer frustration displayed in movements such as Occupy Wall Street and National Bank Transfer Day, and to discuss strategies on how to connect to the positive support generated by these events. Offering a wide array of panelists and peer discussions, this webinar will explore how credit unions can help potential members make a switch from banks and help attendees better understand what consumers truly want from their financial institutions.
