Solarity Credit Union an early adopter of fully online home loan closing experience

YAKIMA, WA (February 1, 2022) — As a premier home lender in the Pacific Northwest, Solarity Credit Union (“Solarity”) is innovating the home loan closing experience. The credit union now offers members its eSigning Experience, a convenient, secure and fully remote way for buyers to close on their home loans. By utilizing an internet connection and a remote online notary, the entire process is completed virtually through video conferencing, allowing members to close from the comfort of home, the office or anywhere they have internet access.

The use of technology in financial services has increased exponentially since the onset of the pandemic, and consumers of all generations and walks of life are choosing to perform traditionally in-person transactions online. Solarity began its digital transformation years earlier, and the COVID-19 pandemic accelerated its vision of delivering a start-to-finish online home loan experience. “Solarity strives to make our members’ lives better,” said Solarity President and CEO Mina Worthington. “We want to make the home loan experience – which is typically quite complex – as easy and reliable as possible. The home loan closing should be a celebration, not a hassle.”

“Our Solarity Closing Coordinators provide members with a personalized closing experience. Our members love the opportunity to get questions answered and have open dialog during our video conference appointment,” said Debbie Ingle, Vice President of Home Loans at Solarity.  “Time is precious, and our eSigning Experience provides members a convenient and easy way to close their home loan.”

In the past, closings could take hours, with borrowers signing mountains of paperwork with little time to prepare or review. As part of Solarity’s eSigning Experience, members receive the closing documents beforehand, which gives them plenty of time to review the details and ask any clarifying questions.

During the eSigning Experience, the escrow company and real estate agent are invited to join the video conference with the online notary and borrower as they sign and notarize the documents. Borrowers are able to move through this process quickly by simply clicking through a file they’ve already reviewed.

“This allows us to serve our members throughout the Pacific Northwest and beyond,” Ingle says. “By embracing the incredible technology at our fingertips, we are able to give our members the best possible experience. We’re proud to be among the first to offer this convenient service.”

So far, Solarity has closed more than 100 home loans with its eSigning Experience. Learn more by watching this video, featuring a member who closed on his home loan using the Solarity eSigning Experience.
