SPIRE welcomes new Community Relations Dir, Stephanie Johnson

FALCON HEIGHTS, MN (November 30, 2021) — SPIRE Credit Union welcomes Stephanie Johnson as Community Relations Director after serving as Executive Director of the Twins Community Fund for the Minnesota Twins Baseball Club.

In her new role at SPIRE, Stephanie is responsible for managing efforts to support SPIRE’s Core Action to “give back” including charitable contributions, employee volunteerism, and community partnerships.

“I’m thrilled to be joining SPIRE Credit Union and work to help improve the lives of our members and community,” said Stephanie.  “As SPIRE grows, so does its commitment to giving. The organization recognizes the incredible opportunity it has to help create a world for their employees and members that is vibrant, healthy, and strong, and I am delighted to be a part of that work.”

Stephanie joins SPIRE after nearly fifteen years working in community relations for the Minnesota Twins Baseball Club. Under her leadership, the Twins Community Fund created an Emergency Relief and Recovery Fund that distributed more than $200,000 to local organizations doing vital work during the summer of 2020. Stephanie’s responsibilities at the Twins also included managing Community Fund grant programs, organizing staff and player volunteer events, and supporting non-profit partnerships.

One of the first initiatives Johnson will lead at SPIRE is a $25,000 match for any donations SPIRE members make on the NetGiver app (a fee-free giving platform) during the 2021 holiday season. SPIRE is also wrapping up its 50 in 50 giving campaign where SPIRE employee teams chose 50 Minnesota-based non-profits to each receive $1,000 in 2021. Stephanie will head up a new employee-driven initiative in 2022, as well.

“We couldn’t be more excited to have Stephanie join the SPIRE team,” stated SPIRE President/CEO Dan Stoltz. “Her leadership and experience in community relations will deepen the relationships SPIRE has in the community, providing more opportunities for us to live out our Core Action to Give Back.”

Stephanie is a graduate of the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN. where she received a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism – Public Relations. She was the 2018-2019 President of the Corporate Volunteerism Council of the Twin Cities and currently serves on the Highland Friendship Club Board of Directors. Stephanie resides in Minneapolis and enjoys reading, classic movies, live theater, and a great cup of coffee.
