DEER PARK, TX (July 12, 2019) — The Furthering Community Unity (FCU) Team powered by Shell FCU kicked off their annual “Supplies for Students” Fundraiser that benefits elementary schools in surrounding districts by purchasing supplies for the upcoming school year. This year, the schools receiving supplies partnered with the FCU Team in April to collect canned food items for the “Everyone’s Gotta Eat” food drive benefitting nearby food banks and shelters.
Last year, with the help of the community, members and volunteers, the FCU Team raised $2,400 for Supplies for Students. The money raised was distributed into $300 gift cards and given to the elementary schools to purchase supplies. The FCU Team plans on triumphing last year’s total and will be accepting cash donations as well as school supply donations at all Shell Federal Credit Union branches throughout the month of July.
