TCCU donates canned goods to Tarrant Area Food Bank

Tarrant County’s Credit Union and Fort Worth City Credit Union teamed up to donate canned goods to the Tarrant Area Food Bank, on January 8, 2018.

TCCU partnered with Fort Worth City Credit Union to hold a canned food drive from October 1st-December 29th, 2017. TCCU hosts an annual canned food drive for the Tarrant Area Food Bank (TAFB) and often invites other local credit unions to participate.  TAFB is the primary source of donated food for hunger-relief charities and feeding programs in 13 North Texas counties.

“Fort Worth City Credit Union believes in community service and makes every opportunity to contribute when possible. We also try to support our fellow Credit Unions on collaboration opportunities,” Fort Worth City Credit Union’s Human Resource Director, Terrie Johnson, said.

TCCU also invites credit union members and staff to donate during the annual drive, and by collaborating with different credit unions in the community, aims to make a bigger impact. Throughout the year TCCU hosts community involvement projects related to specific initiatives. For January, the initiative was hunger – and by hosting the canned food drive for the Tarrant Area Food Bank, the credit union was able to support that need.
“It is always a pleasure to partner with the Tarrant Area Food Bank. Our staff and members enjoy collecting non-perishable food items to assist in the fight against hunger. Tarrant County’s Credit Union has supported TAFB for many years, and we look forward to supporting them in the future,” TCCU’s Business Development Coordinator, Melissa Burleson, said.

TCCU gives back and participates in projects that deliver positive impact on the community. TCCU thrives on giving back and carries out the credit union philosophy in each and every endeavor.
