Teachers, business and community leaders squealed with delight at TruMark Financial’s 10th financial literacy fundraiser

Feed-Or-Kiss-A-Pig event raised over $20,000 for financial literacy programs in area schools

FORT WASHINGTON, PA (October 20, 2021) — Business and community leaders, educators and TruMark Financial employees from across the Philadelphia region gathered at the Abington Art Center, in Jenkintown recently to kiss or feed a pot-bellied pig, named Raines, at TruMark Financial® Credit Union’s Feed-Or-Kiss-A-Pig Financial Literacy Fundraiser. The event raised more than $20,000 in support of financial literacy programs in local schools. There was much love for Raines, as participants had the choice of kissing or feeding him.

The fundraiser is a component of TruMark Financial’s Building Financial Futures initiative. Funds raised will be donated in the form of grants to area schools to provide students with the tools needed to learn the basics of personal finance. This information will help students make informed financial decisions and guide them to a future of financial success. Philly sports-radio and podcast personality Marc Farzetta, host of the Farzy Show (https://www.farzyshow.com) was the event emcee.

The following Bucks County schools sent teachers or staff members to participate and will receive a financial grant from the event’s proceeds:

  • Archbishop Wood
  • Bensalem High School

In addition to the Bucks County schools participating, Debbie Goetz, president of Debbie Goetz Media Connections, LLC, showed some love to Raines, opting to kiss him for the 10th year.

To date, TruMark Financial has donated more than $350,000 to area schools in need of personal finance resources. The grants have been used to purchase resources such as calculators, computer software, and textbooks to help teach the value of saving and the importance of managing money responsibly.
