Philadelphia Area College and High Students test financial knowledge with real-world scenarios
FORT WASHINGTON, PA (June 27, 2023) — TruMark Financial Credit Union is proud to announce the successful conclusion of its Financial Reality Fairs held during the 2022-2023 school year, making a significant impact on the financial education and preparedness of over a thousand local students.
Held at various educational institutions, including Bensalem High School, Cheltenham High School, Wissahickon High School, Upper Dublin High School, and La Salle University, the Reality Fair immerses students in a “real-world” environment where they must make informed spending decisions within a set budget across essential categories such as housing, transportation, food, clothing, and insurance. Financial counselors offered expert advice to help students fine-tune their budgets and live within their set salary constraints.
The success of the Financial Reality Fairs would not have been possible without the dedication of the volunteers who generously shared their time and expertise.
