Unitus (re)introduces new Chief Retail Officer

10+ years after starting her credit union career at Unitus, Corlinda Wooden returns with new skills, clear vision and dedication to make a difference for members

PORTLAND, OR (February 6, 2019) — Unitus today welcomed their new Chief Retail Officer, Corlinda Wooden, back to the organization. Wooden brings with her an extensive track record of credit union advocacy as well as firsthand knowledge of Unitus’ operations.

Wooden joined the credit union movement as Unitus’ Director of Branch Services in August 2007. After almost six years serving Unitus, she became President of Wooden Consulting, a management advisory firm she led with her husband, company founder Brett Wooden. Since then she has obtained a range of high-level credit union experience, working as a Project Manager for industry think tank Filene Research Institute and serving as Faculty Member at Southwest CUNA Management School.

“Corlinda’s wealth of experience and endless enthusiasm for learning will prove strong assets in our mission to better serve our members. She enters this role ready to contribute from day one, bringing creative solutions for short- and long-term member success,” said Steve Stapp, Unitus President & CEO. “Over the last decade, Corlinda she has emerged as a powerful advocate in the credit union movement and we are thrilled to have her back at Unitus Plaza.”

The position opened up after former Retail Chief Brian Alfano transitioned to become Chief Experience Officer, reflecting Unitus’ focus on re-envisioning the member service experience. With the shift, former Regional Manager Michael Hansen has been promoted to Assistant Vice President & Regional Manager. He will work alongside a second AVP & Regional Manager for whom recruiting is currently open.

Wooden adds this position to her current role on the Healthcare Credit Union Association, where she has served as Executive Director since August 2018.
