UsNet re-elects board officers, presents annual marketing award

ALBANY, NY (June 24, 2014) -- Four New York credit union leaders have been re-elected as board officers of Universal Sharing Network (UsNet), a credit union service organization that provides access to more than 5,000 shared branches in and beyond the United States.

The following officers will each serve additional one-year terms: Chairman Mark Pfisterer, president/CEO of AmeriCU Credit Union; Vice Chairman Don Denofio, president/CEO at Saratoga’s Community FCU; Treasurer Christine Peters, CEO of Family First of NY FCU; and Secretary Nancy Kasprzak-Whitmore, EVP of Niagara's Choice FCU.

Several directors were also re-elected to serve new terms on the UsNet board. The re-elected Class A directors include James Doig, president/CEO of Sidney FCU, and Robert Hoppenstedt, SVP of Member Services at Bethpage FCU. Both Class A directors will serve three-year terms on the board.

The Class B directors, who will each serve one-year terms, include Denofio and Bruno Sementilli, president/CEO of Quorum FCU.

“The directors and officers on this board firmly believe in the benefits of shared branching, and we’re fortunate to have a group of strong, knowledgeable leaders guiding UsNet’s strategic direction,” said UsNet Chief Operating Officer Marc Inger.

UsNet, which is owned by New York credit unions and CUANY, held its annual organizational meeting June 19 in conjunction with CUANY’s 2014 Annual Meeting & Convention.

During the event, UsNet also presented Community Resource FCU with the annual Ralph W. Hillman Award. The award, named after the former UsNet chairman, recognizes the shared branching marketing efforts of a participating UsNet credit union.

“The entire shared branching network has benefited from Community Resource FCU’s proactive marketing efforts, and we are proud to recognize them with this award,” said Inger. “Through their efforts, they helped amplify the convenience and accessibility of shared branching, ultimately benefitting the members of every credit union involved with the network.”
