UW Credit Union launches fully responsive online banking design

MADISON, WI (October 21, 2014) – UW Credit Union has launched a fully responsive web design for its online banking platform, Web Branch. This means that tablet and smartphone users enjoy the same user-friendly experience as a desktop computer, all without having to download an app.

“It was crucial for us to provide an easy and seamless online banking experience for all our members regardless of what device they use,” said Eric Bangerter, UW Credit Union’s Vice President of E-Commerce and Internet Services. “In fact, of our nearly two million Web Branch logins per month, about half are coming from mobile and tablet devices.”

Members using the credit union’s mobile channel have grown 35 percent in the past year, and almost 100 percent in the past two years. The new platform, which was designed in-house, makes important information more accessible for members with detailed account information one click or tap away. Members can complete all web tasks on any device, including more complicated ones, like paying bills. The streamlined, modern look saves members time since they can quickly navigate to complete tasks.

“We realize our members are busy,” said Rob Van Nevel, Senior Vice President & Chief Member Solutions Officer of UW Credit Union. “That’s why it’s important to give them access to the best technology possible so they can bank whenever and wherever they choose, completing transactions in minutes.”

Members will be upgraded to the new Web Branch site by email invite in late October and early November or can upgrade at any branch or by phone. To make the transition easy, they will not lose any established preferences.
