Are you ready to catch Gen Z?

Generation Z is the connected generation. Born after 1995, they don’t remember life without Wi-Fi. If you’re going to effectively market to Gen Z, you need to be prepared. Here are a few ways you can go after our youngest generation.

Be where they are: Gen Z knows Netflix. They are the masters of the smartphone. They are the kings of screens. If you want to put yourself in front of Gen Z, you have to be everywhere they are. They have grown up in a commercial free world. If your ad comes on before a YouTube video that they’re trying to watch on their laptop, they’re probably looking at their iPhone. Don’t pick one medium and think you’ve got them figured out. You need to be everywhere.

Hustle: If you want to make money, you’d better be quick. In 2015, the average attention span was just over 8 seconds. That’s down 4 seconds from the year 2000. Platforms like Twitter, Snapchat, and Instagram have capitalized on this information. If you’re going to grab Gen Z’s attention, don’t delay. Get your message out.

Be real: Brett Favre promotes Wrangler jeans for good reason. Nobody would believe Justin Timberlake wears ‘em. Push relevant products on Gen Z. They are 22 and under, so find products they need and present them in a way that shows their value. If you do that, you’ll be successful.
