Senate Committee to Vote on Hood, Harper Nominations on Feb. 26
The Rodney Hood and Todd Harper nominiations to the NCUA board take the next step to possible confirmation.
The Senate Banking Committee will vote on Feb. 26 on the nominations of Rodney Hood and Todd Harper to serve on the NCUA board.
The confirmation vote could be an indication that the Senate intends to move quickly on the nominations, which have attracted no visible opposition.
And it likely is a sign that Senate leaders may intend to pair the nominations of Hood, a Republican and Harper, a Democrat when they get to the floor. Pairing nominations often make confirmation votes easier in the Senate.
If confirmed, Hood would replace board member Rick Metsger, while Harper would occupy the seat vacated by former board Chairwoman Debbie Matz in April 2016. It would mean that the board has full membership for the first time since Matz left.
