Supporting credit union champions in the mid-terms

With just over a month to go before the 2022 mid-terms, CUNA, our federal political action committee the Credit Union Legislative Action Council (CULAC), and Leagues have been hard at work to ensure we see a credit union-friendly majority in the 118th Congress.

We saw a 96% success rate in the primaries with the 333 candidates we backed. This week, we announced $2.5 million in bipartisan ads for the general election, with more announcements to come.

Those ads will support policymakers who understand and fight for the credit union difference, including Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto, D-Nev., and Reps. Don Bacon, R-Neb., Sanford Bishop, D-Ga., Ashley Hinson, R-Iowa, Annie Kuster, D-N.H., Elaine Luria, D-Va., Chris Pappas, D-N.H., and David Valadao, R-Calif.

These candidates—along with the more than 380 others who we’re supporting in the general election—share our commitment to enhancing financial well-being for all and advancing the communities we serve. Those are the champions who will help us continue our advocacy momentum next year regardless of who controls Congress.
