This week: Congress back in session; NCUA hosts webinar, releases board meeting agenda

Congress returns to Washington after a two-week recess, and America’s Credit Unions remains engaged with lawmakers to advance credit union priorities.

The House Financial Services Committee will hold a hearing Wednesday to discuss the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission’s climate rule. Additionally, the Senate Banking Committee will hold also hold a hearing Wednesday on the Treasury’s work to counter illicit finance, terrorism, and sanction evasion.

Also, the NCUA will host a webinar Thursday at 1 p.m. Eastern on “the importance of saving and having safe, fair, and affordable accounts for all.” Credit unions can register for free on the agency’s website. The NCUA will also release the agenda for its April board meeting. The meeting is scheduled for April 18 at 10 a.m. Eastern.
