Credit Unions Increase Business Wins, Social Engagement With Filene Quesocial Pilot

MADISON, WI – Growing active social media engagement among employees on social platforms is a key driver to gaining business results for credit unions, according to research compiled from Filene Research Institute’s QUEsocial pilot program.

More than 50 percent of participants already report business wins, and 97 percent of the most engaged users also report increased business wins. Participants defined business wins as new members and loans, leads, and expanded reach into their communities, among other things. Thirty-six credit unions and 120 individuals make up the pilot.

In coordination with Chicago-based technology company QUEsocial, Filene launched the pilot last year to offer credit unions a new set of social media tools and resources. Over the past two months, QUEsocial made it easy for credit unions to take social business beyond marketing and put into the hands of their employees through a portal that combines e-learning, content delivery, gamification, and analytics.

“As social networks are more and more a part of our daily lives, enabling employees to tap their social networks on the credit union’s behalf is an efficient way to grow membership, deepen relationships, and participate actively in their communities,” said Tansley Stearns, Filene’s Impact Director. “Higher social media engagement and active participation leads to stronger business results.”

“We’ve used social media to recruit, engage our audiences, and generate leads. During the pilot three leads developed through social media that we are in the process of closing,” said one credit union participant.

The pilot runs through April. Credit unions can sign up for Filene’s QUEsocial post-pilot at anytime. It’ll feature more curated content specific to areas such as HR, marketing, sales, and business services, along with Canadian-specific content. It’ll also have enhanced training modules, gaming integration, and back-end technology. Sign up here for an information webinar on April 23 or April 24 to learn more.
