From everyday purchases to the trip of a lifetime, three Suncoast Credit Union members are headed to Miami after winning a FIFA World Cup™-themed sweepstakes.
Suncoast Credit Union celebrated the winners during a ceremony on Wednesday, June 10, with senior leadership and Tampa Bay Sun representatives, including the team’s mascot Solé, on hand. The credit union also presented FC Tampa, a local youth soccer team, with a $5,000 donation, plus dozens of soccer balls. Photos from the event can be found HERE.
Winning member profiles
Grand Prize: Michele Wiegel | Sebring
Wiegel used her Suncoast credit card in February to purchase heat lamps to keep newborn piglets warm on her farm, an act that earned her the grand prize. She has been a Suncoast Credit Union member since 2016.
First Prize: John Cobb | Parrish
Cobb’s winning purchase was made by his wife through QVC, securing him first prize. He and his family have been Suncoast members for 12 years.
Second Prize: Janell Rio | Dade City
Rio earned second prize with an Amazon purchase made using her Suncoast credit card. A lifelong member, her account was opened by her mother when she was born.

All three winners will receive two tickets, along with travel credits, prepaid products, cash prizes and additional gifts. During the promotional period earlier this year, members were automatically entered into the sweepstakes each time they used a Suncoast debit or credit card, turning everyday spending into a chance to win an unforgettable experience.
