U.S. College Hockey Online (USCHO.com) and Digital Federal Credit Union, better known as DCU, today announced a strategic marketing and sponsorship package that will rebrand the USCHO.com poll, one of college hockey’s best-known ranking tools, and provide DCU website presence and onsite branding at the 2022 Frozen Four in Boston.
Additionally, DCU will be the charitable sponsor for the 2022 Hockey Humanitarian Award which annually recognizes college hockey’s top citizen. This sponsorship was soft launched with the release of the December 13 DCU/USCHO.com Polls across both Division I and Division III men’s and women’s hockey. Each Monday during the college hockey season, a new poll will be released featuring the two well-known brands.
DCU will also be the presenting sponsor of USCHO’s three weekly podcasts – USCHO Weekend Review, USCHO Spotlight and USCHO Game of the Week. In addition to advertising spots throughout each podcast for the remainder of the season, each segment will be tagged with DCU messaging.
With the 2022 Frozen Four being held in Marlborough, Mass.-based DCU’s backyard of Boston, the non-profit financial cooperative will have extensive on-site presence during key USCHO events. DCU will co-host a VIP reception with USCHO and will have brand presence during USCHO’s on-site broadcasts in Boston. A representative from DCU will also present the Hockey Humanitarian recipient and the award’s finalists with financial donations to the charities with which they each work.
“The ability to closely align the USCHO name with a national brand like DCU is significant for our organization,” said Tim Brule, publisher and CEO of USCHO. “We feel that both the national exposure that DCU will attain along with the critical community relationships that DCU can build through the Hockey Humanitarian Award is a major benefit that will have lasting impact.”
“DCU is proud to partner with the USCHO on the presentation of the Hockey Humanitarian Award,“ said Ed Niser, DCU’s Assistant Public Relations Manager. “As a credit union, we pride ourselves on doing the right thing and making a difference in the lives of our members and their communities. These Hockey Humanitarians are community lamplighters. Both they and the USCHO embody DCU’s values in the charitable work that they perform.”
