CUNA engaged w/ Kraninger cmte vote, Senate bills this week

CUNA will be engaged with several Senate floor activities this week, including consideration of several bills that would have an impact on credit unions. The Senate Banking Committee will also vote on the nomination of Kathy Kraninger to serve as Bureau of Consumer Financial Protection director.

CUNA sent a letter for the record for Kraninger’s testimony before the Senate Banking Committee earlier this month, highlighting the need for stability in bureau leadership.

Among the bills the Senate is expected to consider this week are:

  • The four-bill appropriations “minibus” bill that includes the Senate Financial Services and General Government Appropriations Act for fiscal year 2019. CUNA wrote in support of the bill last week, due to full allocations for several credit union-related funds;
