Life hacks from a single mom

“If you put your mind to it, you can accomplish anything”- Michael J. Fox as Marty McFly

Daily life can be quite challenging, especially as a single parent. Raising a child independently can be demanding at times, but it is also the most rewarding experience I will ever have.

Despite any hardships you may face, whether at work or in life, having strength, determination, and the right attitude can lead you over obstacles and down the path to success. Here are life hacks from a busy single mom to help you find your way when times get tough.

Take things one day at a time. If you are having a bad day and things don’t seem to be going your way, take a deep breath and remember, most inconveniences or hiccups you face are not permanent. Tomorrow is a new day.

Give yourself credit. No one is perfect and it’s important to not be too hard on yourself. Having confidence makes you a stronger person, and in my case, a better mother. Take time to pat yourself on the back for even the smallest achievements.

Don’t stress over finances. Don’t let your life get bogged down in bills and financial pressures. Even if you are living paycheck to paycheck, find ways to enjoy yourself. You can have fun and live a happy life even if you are on a strict budget.

Take advice with a grain of salt. It’s important to consult with others when you need help, but remember, you don’t have to take their advice completely to heart. Consider their input with your own thoughts and make the decision you feel is right for your situation.
