Live event coverage: 2024 PSCU/Co-op Solutions Member Forum

PSCU/Co-op Solutions President & CEO Chuck Fagan delivers the opening keynote address at 2024 Member Forum.

All eyes are on PSCU/Co-op Solutions this week as 2024 Member Forum, PSCU’s legacy conference, kicks off in San Antonio.

This year’s event boasts record attendance with nearly 1,400 credit union leaders registered. Event headliners include Melissa Proctor, EVP & CMO of the Atlanta Hawks & State Farm Arena, and event signage features this year’s theme “United in Vision.”

Much of the attention this week is on the recent combination of PSCU/Co-op Solutions. Though the combination was met with overwhelming approval (over 90% of credit unions voted in favor), credit unions are eagerly awaiting answers about the future of the combined organization. Their questions are, in large part, being addressed during Member Forum.

Read on for highlights from this live event:

  • New brand? PSCU/Co-op Solutions executives say a new brand is on the way, though it is not being announced this week. Rumor has it that the big announcement could coincide with PSCU/Co-op Solutions THINK event (Co-op Solutions’ legacy event) in Nashville this May.
  • Governance: During his opening address, PSCU/Co-op Solutions President & CEO Chuck Fagan honored his 17-member board including his current chair Frank Weidner, President & CEO of Wings Financial CU. Fagan also recognized Joan Opp, President & CEO of Stanford Federal Credit Union, the former chair of Co-op Solutions who currently serves in an advisory role for the combined organization.
  • Leadership: With two recent additions to the PSCU/Co-op Solutions executive team, Fagan also took a moment to recognize two retirements from the organization including Lynn Heckler and Scott Wagner.
  • Integration: Members of the PSCU/Co-op Solutions executive team shared that the organization is working with McKinsey & Company consultants to ensure a smooth integration and transition. Emphasis has been placed on merging “the right way” with full integration anticipated to take several years.
  • Products: During a panel of executive team leaders, PSCU/Co-op’s EVP, Chief Product Officer Denise Stevens shared several times their intent for “no forced migrations,” indicating that they do not anticipate credit unions from either side of the fence will be required to switch.
  • New: Fagan touched on the new Fintech Engagement Program created by PSCU/Co-op Solutions which was designed to “drive collaboration between financial solutions providers and fintech companies.” The program will include a fintech advisory board of 10-12 credit unions.

Up next, the conference continues with keynotes, breakout sessions, and panel discussions from credit union leaders.
