Major HR & organizational development opportunities coming to Las Vegas

When you work in credit union HR or organizational development, you have to bring your all. Your staff is counting on you to meet their needs, to facilitate productivity and positive relationships, to create an environment where they can thrive. You need to be their champion.

I’ve always believed that bringing your all means engaging with peers, points of view and opportunities that help you become a stronger leader. If you share this sentiment, then you should join me at CUNA HR & Organizational Development Council Conference.

For more than two decades, this action-packed event has served as a hub for dynamic, passionate professionals in search of personal growth. At this year’s conference, April 19-22, 2017, in Las Vegas, we will welcome talks from industry experts and spur conversations on prominent issues: staffing, compensation, training, compliance, engagement and more.

As an Executive Committee member, I helped put this event together, so let me share the two aspects I’m most excited about:

A Radical LEAP Forward

In 2004, Steven Farber changed the way we view leadership with The Radical Leap, now widely considered one of the greatest business books of all time. With his LEAP framework (Love, Energy, Audacity, Proof), he created a leadership model that provides employees with the support and confidence they need to take risks and strive for improvement.

I couldn’t be more excited to say that Steven will be sharing his LEAP model with CUNA HR & Organizational Development Council Conference attendees as our keynote speaker.

These tough, competitive and uncertain times call for strong credit union leaders. Steven will show how to bring passion, foresight and fearlessness to your HR and organizational development initiatives, inspiring your employees to reach their full potential. I can’t wait to hear his insights.

Get recertified

Anytime we’re able to use this conference to provide professional credits, we seize on the opportunity. As in years past, the 2017 CUNA HR & Organizational Development Council Conference will qualify for recertification credits with the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM) and the Human Resources Certification Institute (HRCI).

If you’re a current designee of either of these organizations, you will be able to make some serious headway towards meeting your recertification requirements by attending this year’s conference. Furthermore, attending the pre-conference session* (“Aligning Your Human Capital Plan for the Millennial Workforce”), you can earn additional credits.

There’s plenty more to get excited about, of course. The conference offers incredible networking potential and we have great general sessions planned with Barbara Mistick of Wilson College, Tansley Stearns of Filene Research Institute and renowned motivational speaker Gian Paul Gonzalez.

What’s most exciting, though, is you will emerge from these three days rejuvenated and reinvigorated. Your staff will have the champion they deserve.
