NCUA board nominee Otsuka to appear before committee this week

Both chambers of Congress are in Washington, D.C., this week. The House may hold a vote for speaker this week, but no floor or committee action has been announced for this week.

The Senate Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs Committee will meet Thursday to consider nominations, including nominee for the NCUA Board Tanya Otsuka. President Joe Biden nominated Otsuka—current senior counsel for the majority staff of the Senate Banking Committee—to take the place of current board member Rodney Hood.

The hearing is scheduled to begin Thursday at 10 a.m. ET.

The committee will also conduct a hearing on Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs) Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. ET, “How Community Development Financial Institutions Promote Housing and Economic Opportunity.”
