Arkansas Federal Credit Union earns Community Development Financial Institution certification

LITTLE ROCK, AR (July 5, 2023) — Arkansas Federal Credit Union is proud to announce that it has received certification as a Community Development Financial Institution from the US Treasury Department’s CDFI fund. This certification recognizes Arkansas Federal’s commitment to providing financial products and services to underserved communities.

“We are excited and proud to have earned CDFI certification. This designation will allow us to further our mission to make a difference in the financial lives of our members and communities we serve,” said Eric Mangham, executive vice president and chief financial officer. “With access to the CDFI Fund’s grant program, we will have a greater opportunity to serve and support members in underserved areas.”

Certified CDFIs are part of a national network promoting economic growth in America’s underserved communities by financing businesses, creating jobs, and rebuilding neighborhoods. The CDFI certification allows qualified financial institutions to access federal funds to provide financial products and services in low-income communities for residents and businesses.
