Raiz Federal Credit Union launches new Gen Z community initiative

EL PASO, TX (May 23, 2024) — Raiz Federal Credit Union is now accepting applications for its newest program, the Empowering Leaders Society. The program aims to integrate the perspectives and aspirations of Gen Z into its initiatives in order to meet the needs of the generation and bolster their success. The program provides a space for young individuals to improve their financial literacy, develop professionally, and engage with the community, all while influencing the future of finance within their credit union.

“Empowering the voices of the younger generations is pivotal to shaping a future that reflects their aspirations and values,” remarked Alejandro Yu, VP of Marketing at Raiz Federal Credit Union. “We are investing in young individuals’ personal and professional development while also providing them with a platform to have their voices heard. Our guiding values stay true to our heritage, deeply rooted in teachers and education. We believe that the largest investment to raising up our community begins with empowering the next generation of leaders.”

The Empowering Leaders Society fosters a sense of responsibility, leadership, and community involvement among the youth. The program is now open for applications, inviting young, ambitious credit union members to step forward and be the change they wish to see.

About the Empowering Leaders Society
As a member of the Empowering Leaders Society, you’re not just a part of an organization – you’re a catalyst for change! Participants in the program will:

  • Engage in professional development workshops designed to refine their skills and prepare them for leadership roles.
  • Participate in discussions and collaborative projects with established community leaders, gaining invaluable insights and mentorship.
  • Have a platform to express their views, ideas, and vision for the future, ensuring their voices contribute to the credit union’s direction and community initiatives.
  • Increase their financial knowledge to aid them in making informed decisions about their future.
  • Culminate their experience by organizing an end-of-term event, applying their acquired skills in a real-world scenario, and showcasing their achievements.

Eligibility and Application Process

Applicants must:

  • Be an account holder at Raiz Federal Credit Union
  • Be between 16-22 years of age
  • Actively pursuing an education
