Community banks and credit unions go live with Touch ID in mobile banking through Malauzai Software

AUSTIN, TX (May 20, 2015) – Malauzai Software, a provider of mobile and Internet banking SmartApps for community financial institutions, announces the integration of Apple’s Touch ID technology with mobile banking as a part of the Malauzai Mobile Only Experience (MOX Everywhere™) suite of banking products. Several community financial institutions now allow users to access mobile banking through fingerprint biometric technology, including:

·         Greater TEXAS Federal Credit Union and its division Aggieland Credit Union in Austin, Texas

·         Ameriana Bancorp in New Castle, Ind.

·         Customers Bank in Wyomissing, Pa.

·         Fort Community Credit Union in Fort Atkinson, Wisc.

·         First United Bank in Lubbock, Texas

·         Happy State Bank in Happy, Texas

·         Alabama Teachers Credit Union in Gadsden, Ala.

Touch ID, a finger print recognition feature, when embedded in mobile banking, enables users to log in to the app using their fingerprint instead of a traditional login. Account holders now have instant access to account information such as balance and recent transactions through an easier, more secure process. The fingerprints are stored on the mobile phone, making it difficult for would-be hackers to access the credentials.

“Mobile banking should be effortless and inviting; Touch ID brings those qualities to our mobile banking program,” said Gina Turner, assistant vice president of operations and branch administration with Alabama Teachers Credit Union. “We appreciate how easy Malauzai made it to implement biometrics into our mobile app and their efforts to keep us on the leading edge of innovation and member service. We are confident that members will enjoy this new feature and our overall mobile security will be improved.”

“Biometrics are hitting the financial industry in full force,” said Robb Gaynor, chief product officer of Malauzai. “TouchID is yet another clear sign that community banks are well on their way to beating the bigger banks. Ultimately, the big win is for the end-user, who has a vastly improved user experience, with the peace of mind that their information is safe.”
