Credit Union Resources executive search results in Shell FCU selection of new CIO

DEER PARK, TX (June 2, 2015) — Shell Federal Credit Union has named Sam James as its new CIO effective Monday, June 1, 2015. Credit Union Resources conducted the executive search for the $670 million dollar credit union.

James’ credit union experience and expertise in information technology will be a valuable asset to the executive team at Shell FCU. His passion for proactive, leading technology will help Shell continue to provide exceptional service to its members.

James comes to Shell from Mobiloil Credit Union in Beaumont, Texas, where he served as vice president, IS&T. He was responsible for the infrastructure of the credit union, vendor relationships, and information technology. At Mobiloil, James tripled the credit union’s asset valuation within eight years and achieved a 100 percent loan-to-share ratio.

James holds an MBA with emphasis in business operations management from Colorado Tech University. Additionally, James holds a BSBA in business and project management.

James is actively involved in the community. He is a board officer and treasurer for Lagniappe Film and Music Festival in Southeast Texas; a former board officer for “Recreate,” a city revitalization project; and a former board officer with the Austin Party Cannibals (Celebration Productions), a non-profit organization dedicated to providing large-scale entertainment in the City of Austin, Texas.
