CUES recognizes 2014 CEO Institute graduates

MADISON, WI (June 6, 2014) — CUES is pleased to recognize 45 credit union executives who recently completed all three years of its prestigious executive education program, CEO Institute. In addition, 40 of the graduates earned their Certified Chief Executive (CCE) designation, signifying their ongoing commitment to professional development. They join the ranks of 508 credit union leaders who have also obtained their CCE, and who are recognized throughout the credit union movement as having established a standard of educational excellence.

This three-part graduate-level program takes participants through the full spectrum of leadership preparation. Each of the intensive, week-long programs is held at a renowned business school: CEO Institute I: Strategic Planning at the University of Pennsylvania, The Wharton School, Philadelphia; CEO Institute II: Organizational Effectiveness at Cornell University, Johnson Graduate School of Management, Ithaca, N.Y.; and CEO Institute III: Strategic Leadership Development at the University of Virginia, Darden School of Business, Charlottesville, Va.

“CUES’ CEO Institute was truly a transformation program; and year three was an especially incredible experience,” said Tammy Williams, president/CEO, Best Advantage Credit Union, Brillion, Wis. “It was a week of self-reflection that challenged me both personally and professionally. The days were filled with thought provoking discussion that equipped me with strategies for leading high performing teams.”

“Research by D. Hilton Associates, Inc. suggests that as many as 43% of senior executives in credit unions with assets over $100 million will retire in the next five years,” added Chuck Fagan, President/CEO, CUES. “Graduates of CEO Institute are uniquely prepared by the best business schools to meet the upcoming talent needs of the movement.”

When the 2014 spring session of CEO Institute surpassed capacity, CUES added a second CEO Institute I: Strategic Planning, August 17-22, 2014.
