DCUC presents $20,000 donation to ASYMCA

WASHINGTON, DC (November 14, 2022) — The Defense Credit Union Council (DCUC) is proud to announce its 2022 Conference with a Purpose raised a total donation of $20,000 for the Armed Services YMCA (ASYMCA).

The four-day fundraiser was held during DCUC’s 2022 Annual Conference in San Antonio, TX from August 2 to August 5 and was a great success thanks to the generosity of DCUC members, sponsors and guests. The fundraising efforts included an online Silent Auction, selling mulligans for the 2022 Annual VADM Vincent Lascara Golf Tournament, and the popular 50/50 raffle.

ASYMCA, an independent, national non-profit and Association of the YMCA of the USA, was chosen as the 2022 fundraising recipient for their dedication in serving and supporting military members and their families of all six branches of the Armed Forces: Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, Space Force and Coast Guard. This donation will assist ASYMCA with its goal to provide unique and specialized programs to service members and their families that focus on relief, resilience and readiness in response to the unique challenges of military life.

“The Defense Credit Union Council and the Armed Services YMCA share a common cause in serving our country’s military members and their families. We are honored by their generous support, which allows us to respond to the significant needs of military families including accessible and affordable quality childcare, emergency food assistance, resiliency programs for youth, and early education opportunities for the youngest members of our military family. Defense Credit Union Council serves those who serve, both in their day-to-day business and through their gift of strengthening military families through the Armed Services YMCA.”

William French, Vice Admiral, USN, retired, President and CEO of the Armed Services YMCA.

For everyone that donated an item, placed bids, bought raffle tickets or mulligans, and donated, thank you! The defense credit union community continues to be one of the most generous and giving, and DCUC is incredibly thankful to be a part of it.
