FMFCU Foundation donates 220 pounds of food to area food pantries

CHADDS FORD, PA (December 21, 2023) — FMFCU Foundation is proud to announce a generous donation of 220 pounds of food to two local food pantries in the Franklin Mint Federal Credit Union community – Loaves & Fishes in Prospect Park, PA, and Lansdowne Ministerium at Lansdowne Presbyterian Church in Lansdowne, PA. This charitable initiative was made possible through the proceeds collected on Giving Tuesday.

Giving Tuesday, celebrated annually on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving, harnesses the power of social media and the generosity of people around the world to bring about real change in their communities. In the spirit of giving, FMFCU Foundation chose to direct its efforts towards addressing food insecurity, a critical issue affecting many individuals and families in the local community.

The donation of 220 pounds of non-perishable food items was carefully curated to meet the specific needs of Loaves & Fishes and Lansdowne Ministerium. These organizations have been dedicated to providing vital support to those facing food insecurity, and FMFCU Foundation is honored to contribute to their ongoing efforts.

“With the holiday season upon us, it is more important than ever to come together as a community and support those in need,” said Rick Durante, Executive Director of FMFCU Foundation. “Through the collective generosity of our members and partners on Giving Tuesday, we were able to make a meaningful impact by providing essential food items to Loaves & Fishes and Lansdowne Ministerium. This is just one way we are fulfilling our commitment to improving the well-being of the communities we serve.”

FMFCU Foundation extends its gratitude to all who contributed to the success of this initiative, emphasizing the importance of collaboration in creating positive change. As the Foundation continues to champion various causes and initiatives, it remains dedicated to supporting the communities in which it operates.
