Honor Credit Union awarded Innovation & Dora Maxwell Awards at MCUL AC&E
SAINT JOSEPH, MI (June 10, 2015) – Honor Credit Union gathered with other credit unions from across the great State of Michigan at the annual Michigan Credit Union League (MCUL) Annual Convention and Exposition (AC&E) in Traverse City. The credit union movement is centered around collaboration, and the MCUL AC&E brings credit union professionals together to learn, network, and recognize both individual and collective achievement. Honor Credit Union is proud to have been honored with two awards at the MCUL AC&E: the MCUL Innovation Award and the Dora Maxwell Social Responsibility Award.
The MCUL Innovation Award recognizes credit unions that have demonstrated true innovation in the last twelve months across a variety of areas including financial strength and performance and community involvement. Serving more than 55,000 members across the State of Michigan, Honor holds member service at an extremely high priority and is constantly striving to provide members with improved solutions for financial success. Financial literacy programs, including Honor’s partnership with the Michigan Youth Opportunity Initiative, and Honor’s continuous dedication to reinvesting in the communities they serve were also factors in the award selection process.
The Dora Maxwell Social Responsibility Award, named after credit union pioneer Dora Maxwell, recognizes credit unions who promote social responsibility. Honor Credit Union’s community fund, Powered By Honor awarded over $50,000 dollars in 2014 through their Community Commitment Scholarship and grants supporting local non-profit charity organizations. In addition to monetary support, the Honor Credit Union team participated in over 180 events logging more than 2,200 hours of volunteer time in 2014.
