IBM Southeast Employees’ Federal Credit Union donates to Operation Peanut Butter & Jelly
Credit Union supports employee participation in community involvement
DELRAY BEACH, FL (March 16, 2015) — IBM Southeast Employees’ Federal Credit Union actively supports employees volunteering and donating items within the community, believing that volunteering changes the way the world works and is another way of giving back. During the month of March, Atlanta-area IBM Southeast EFCU employees are donating to the Operation Peanut Butter & Jelly community project.
Operation Peanut Butter & Jelly is a community service project put on by Paulding High School in Dallas, Georgia. Their mission is to provide food to needy children from nearby Nebo Elementary School over spring break. 15-year-old Paulding High School sophomore, Lee Haley, noticed the need in the community and thought packing bags for the food program would be a great way to give back to the community and meet required volunteer hours for the Beta club he participates in.
This March, food collection boxes have been placed in all Atlanta-area IBM Southeast EFCU lunch and break rooms. In addition to plastic peanut butter and jelly jars, employees can donate boxes of oatmeal, grits, cereal, pop tarts, mac & cheese, cups of fruit or applesauce, cans of soup, ravioli, and bags of chips, fruit snacks, cookies, or crackers. Donations will be accepted through March 31, 2015.
Michael Miller, CEO of IBM Southeast EFCU, stated that giving back to the communities we serve is very important us. “We are very proud and thankful that our employees are giving their time and energy to the Paulding High School Operation Peanut Butter & Jelly community project. We look forward to participating in more community events that help feed children in need.”
