Local organizations receive over $100,000 in donations from HUECU in December

HUECU shares its profitable year with non-profits.

Many local residents will have a brighter holiday season thanks to an additional $100,000 in donations to community organizations made this month by Harvard University Employees Credit Union. The $100,000 of additional charitable contributions was approved by HUECU’s board based on the Credit Union’s strong financial performance in 2021.

HUECU is proud to add an additional $100,000 to this year’s charitable budget, and has donated to the following organizations:

  • Cambridge Family & Children’s Service (CFCS)
  • Food For Free
  • Greater Boston Food Bank
  • Green Cambridge
  • Massachusetts Homeless Coalition
  • Phillips Brooks House Association (PBHA)
  • Somerville Cambridge Elder Services
  • Somerville Homeless Coalition
  • Tutoring Plus

“I am thrilled that we are in a position to make these additional donations and support the important work of these phenomenal organizations. As a not-for-profit cooperative, we believe that our financial success should directly benefit our members and the communities we serve.” Craig Leonard, HUECU President & CEO

HUECU thanks its dedicated staff and loyal members for another successful year, and for the opportunity to further our positive impact in the community. This holiday season and year-round, HUECU encourages all that can to support the inspiring work of non-profits who are feeding families, keeping people safe and warm, making education accessible, addressing social injustices, protecting our planet, and helping us all live better.
