New credit union fee data available in CUNA Fees Report

MADISON, WI (March 31, 2015) – CUNA released today its latest data on credit union fees today in the 2015-2016 CUNA Fees Report.

“Setting fees is a critical task that affects sustainability for credit unions,” shared Jon Haller, Director of Corporate and Market Research at CUNA. “While credit unions want to be low fee financial institutions, they depend on fees to cover costs, offer quality products and provide a higher level of service than their competitors. The CUNA Fees Report can help credit unions effectively set fees that provide them the highest competitive advantage.”

Information on fee types and amounts is compiled in the report to assist credit unions in determining the fees they need to charge to meet their needs while staying competitive in the marketplace. The report covers fees as they relate to:

  • Overdraft protection
  • Non-sufficient funds (NSF)
  • Share draft/checking programs
  • Online bill-payments
  • ATM surcharges
  • ATM and debit cards
  • Credit cards
  • First mortgage applications and closing costs
  • Member business loan applications
  • Mobile banking
