Park Community Credit Union Foundation awards $75,000 in nonprofit grants

Park Community Credit Union Foundation has awarded four nonprofits a total of $75,000 for the 2023 Pathways to Prosperity grant program. Pathways to Prosperity, created in celebration of the Foundation’s re-launch this year, supports projects in Kentucky and Southern Indiana that align with the grantmaker’s three impact areas – financial well-being, education, and thriving communities.

“Our vision is to build a more vibrant community where everyone has equitable access to learn, grow and thrive,” says Shannon Kisselbaugh, Park Community Foundation Executive Director. “With the Pathways to Prosperity grants, we are excited to support nonprofits who are doing just that – improving quality of life for Park Community’s members and neighbors.”

The four 2023 Pathways to Prosperity nonprofit grantees are:

  • Home of the Innocents – $19,231 for the Pathways HOME program, which will provide financial literacy class materials to young adults and their children experiencing homelessness.
  • Junior Achievement of Kentuckiana – $5,769 for Financial Literacy Education, which will serve high school students through personal finance, Finance Park 2.0, JA Economics for Success and the JA Girl$ programs.
  • One Plus One Equals U – $25,000 for the Young Champions P.A.S.S. Capacity Initiative, which will provide student athletes with tutoring, sports training, and re-entry back into their sports teams, assistance with high school graduation or GED, and admissions into post-secondary schools.
  • Veteran’s Club – $25,000 for the Vocational Tools for Operation Jeep Build, which will provide equipment and teach automotive repair skills to veterans and first responders.

“At Park Community Credit Union, we are committed to fair and affordable services for all communities we serve,” says Jim Spradlin, CEO of Park Community Credit Union. “With the Park Community Foundation, we can expand our impact beyond financial products by supporting nonprofits that share our dedication to the motto of “people helping people.”

Park Community Credit Union Foundation will honor the nonprofits at the Pathways to Prosperity Grant Awards Celebration today, Thursday, August 31 at 3:00 pm at Park Community Headquarters, 2515 Blankenbaker Parkway, Louisville, KY 40299.
