People’s Credit Union volunteers team up with the Newport Salvation Army for a festive community Thanksgiving celebration

MIDDLETOWN, RI (November 27, 2023) — People’s Credit Union volunteers teamed up with the Newport Salvation Army on Saturday, November 18th for a community Thanksgiving feast to start off the Holiday season. Everyone gathered to enjoy a festive celebration of a traditional turkey dinner.

“Thanksgiving has come to signify the start of the Holiday season and People’s Credit Union was more than happy to be part of the Salvation Army’s kick-off celebration,” stated Heather Sweeney, Head of Newport Market Development for People’s Credit Union. “The Credit Union volunteer team jumped at the opportunity to help out and will continue to do so during the Holidays to make them joyous and merry for all,” Sweeney added.

People’s Credit Union volunteers teamed up with the Newport Salvation Army led by Mary Howland, Chairperson of Salvation Army’s Newport County Council (bottom row, left) and Core Officer, Major Jae Eun Park (bottom row, right), at their Memorial Boulevard location on November 18th to help celebrate Thanksgiving with the community.
