SDCCU names Kelly Hudson Senior Vice President, Chief Compliance Officer

Compliance executive brings more than 15 years of experience in the finance industry to SDCCU 

SAN DIEGO, CA (June 19, 2015) — San Diego County Credit Union® (SDCCU®), San Diego’s largest locally-owned financial institution, named Kelly Hudson Senior Vice President, Chief Compliance Officer. Hudson joined SDCCU in October 2012 as Senior Compliance Officer before being promoted to Senior Vice President, Chief Compliance Officer.

“Kelly joined SDCCU with a wealth of leadership experience in auditing and compliance in the financial services industry. That experience quickly revealed itself as she implemented several systems and processes to ensure operational compliance,” said SDCCU President and CEO Teresa Halleck. “Kelly’s promotion to SVP, Chief Compliance Officer is well deserved and her extensive knowledge and background has strengthened SDCCU’s leadership team.”

In this role, Hudson is responsible for overseeing the Corporate Compliance Program and the Compliance Management System, which reviews, evaluates and makes key decisions on compliance matters within the credit union. She ensures applicable rules and regulations are identified, reviewed and followed for organizational compliance.

Hudson came to SDCCU with experience in the financial industry spanning more than 15 years. Before joining the organization, she served as Vice President of Compliance at Altura Credit Union where she was responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining the credit union’s risk management, compliance and corporate governance programs. Previously, Hudson spent almost ten years at Bay Federal Credit Union where she served as Assistant Vice President of Asset Management and Assistant Vice President of Internal Audit. Hudson also spent time in her career at Washington Mutual Bank.

Hudson has served on the board of Volunteer Center of Santa Cruz as a Finance Committee Member and Big Brothers Big Sisters as Fund Development Committee Chairperson and Finance Committee Member. She holds an M.B.A. from Santa Clara University’s Leavey School of Business, a B.S. in both Accounting and Finance from San Jose State University and an A.A. in Business from Cabrillo College. Hudson also holds the following certifications: Certified Internal Auditor, Institute of Internal Auditors; NAFCU (National Association of Federal Credit Unions) Certified Compliance Officer; and Credit Union Compliance Expert, Credit Union National Association (CUNA).
