What should I have in my credit union disaster supply kit?

How current are your supplies?  Do you have a bin of supplies that are “ready for a disaster”?  Have you checked the contents of your credit union disaster supply kit lately?  Any food or water that has expired and needs to be replaced?  Maybe First Aid kits that need to be refreshed?  These supplies should be reviewed and updated so they are ready for use when needed!

Here are some other material and equipment supplies for departments to consider as well.  Review and create the list that’s most appropriate for your areas.

Management Team

  • Business Continuity Plan

Accounting Team

  • Phones

Branch Operations Team

  • Off-line Procedures Manual and Forms

  • Phones

Lending Team

  • Emergency Lending Procedures
  • PCs, Printers, and MS Office software.
  • Loan Liner Forms
  • Associated loan documents (P/A, notice of liens, affidavits, co-signer forms, work sheets, NADA books, amortization books, rate sheets
  • Phone books
  • General office supplies (pens, pencils, scratch pads, paper clips, staplers, scotch tape, scissors, staple removers)
  • A phone to verify employment and contact auto dealers
  • Equipment needed:  desks, chairs, calculators, credit bureau machine, fax machine, phones
