Heritage Federal Credit Union new Bell Oaks branch to open January 20, 2015

NEWBURGH, IN (January 20, 2015) — On Tuesday, January 20, 2015, Heritage Federal Credit Union will open its new Bell Oaks branch to the public in Newburgh, IN. This new branch was built due to unprecedented growth that was especially impacting the old Bell Oaks branch. This new two-story, state-of-the-art facility will ultimately enable HFCU to better meet the needs of our growing membership, now and into the future. Built on land that HFCU already owns, the branch features a dedicated ATM/Night Depository lane; a dedicated pass-through lane; and 3 wide drive-thru lanes that will allow the credit union to serve two members in each lane at the same time. The old Bell Oaks branch will close its doors for good at the end of business hours on Friday, January 15, 2015. The ATM at the old Bell Oaks location will be available for members up until Tuesday morning, January 20, 2015 when the ATM at the new Bell Oaks branch goes online.

Empire Contractors Inc., a full service General Contractor with over four decades of experience and based in Evansville, employs local union labor that is constructing the building. The new Bell Oaks branch is Phase 1 of the expansion project planned for this location. Phase 2, the construction of the new HFCU headquarters, will begin immediately after the opening of the new Bell Oaks branch and is slated to be completed later this year. The new headquarters will be attached to the new Bell Oaks branch and will house several administrative functions, a training facility, and a community room for local non-profits to utilize.

The growth that Heritage Federal Credit Union has experienced over the past 10 years is evident in growth in membership and asset size. HFCU has now exceeded 46,000 members and has been entrusted with over $468 million of members’ assets.

As a result of this growth and in order to maintain truly exceptional member service, HFCU continues to expand their work force. This expansion means more space is needed for additional staff and equipment and, therefore, the new building became necessary.

Ruth Jenkins, CCE, CUERME, President and CEO stated, “Heritage Federal Credit Union’s growth is not only creating new facilities within Warrick County and fostering economic growth through the additional wages and benefits for the new staff members, but we are also saving our members in both Warrick and Vanderburgh counties millions of dollars each year (through low rates and no or low fees) which can be used to purchase homes, cars, and other consumer goods right here in the Tri-State area.”
