Back in school, there was probably a time when it seemed nerdy to ask questions. You either didn’t want to ask the question with the easy answer that you should have known, or you just didn’t want the attention to be on you. Whatever the case, here are three reasons you should always ask questions…
Questions can help with memory: Asking questions about something you don’t understand is a great way to learn more about it. You may not always remember everything you read, but by engaging with someone on a particular subject, you’re more likely to be able to recall that information later.
Questions can show you’re paying attention: Asking questions is a great way to let everyone around you know that you’re interested in the conversation. Whether you’re in a meeting with colleagues or having a conversation with a friend, asking questions will let them know that you care about what they have to say.
Questions can lead to innovation: Anytime you’re working on project, there will always be obstacles to overcome. Asking questions about the products and services that you provide is a great way to help improve them. Just because something is working, doesn’t mean it couldn’t work better. “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it,” isn’t always true.
