Introducing #CreditUnionHeroes – Recognizing the COVID-19 heroes in the CU movement

Each of us knows at least one “credit union hero” – someone in the credit union industry that has exemplified the spirit of “people helping people” over the last few weeks. From the service agents on the front lines that support our members in need, to our colleagues and leaders offering emotional support, to the moms and dads working while taking care of their kids at home – our movement is full of everyday heroes and stories of kindness and compassion.

CO-OP wants to highlight those stories of heroism within the credit union industry; and since all of us may be grounded and unable to fly with our Shades Up over the coming weeks, we came up with a new social media campaign to share those stories while continuing to raise money for CMNH and NCUF: #Credit Union Heroes.

Between now and our THINK 20 conference (August 17, 2020), for every story posted with the hashtag #CreditUnionHeroes and tagging @CO-OPFS, CO-OP will donate $10 to both Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and the National Credit Union Foundation, up to $10,000 for each charity!

How to Participate in #CreditUnionHeroes:

To nominate a colleague as a “credit union hero,” post a short description of their heroic act on your Facebook, Twitter, or LinkedIn profile, using the hashtag #CreditUnionHeroes and tagging @CO-OPFS. Feel free to get creative – use a selfie video, post a photo or just include a short written description of why that person is a hero.
