CHARLESTON, SC (April 4, 2024) — Kelly Nix, Public Relations Coordinator at REV, was honored with the Carolinas Credit Union Foundation Individual Achievement Award at the Foundation’s annual Awards Gala. The event, held in Concord, NC, celebrated Nix’s excellent contributions to driving community involvement, employment engagement, and empowerment initiatives.
“The honor of helping others live a more resilient life lies not only in the impact we can have on their lives, but also in the personal growth and fulfillment that comes from being of service to others,” shared Kelly Nix. “It is a reminder that we are all connected, that our struggles and triumphs are shared, and that by lifting each other up, we all rise together. As the driving force behind community engagement at REV, Nix has been instrumental in fostering healthy and resilient communities by encouraging collaboration and effective philanthropy. Her leadership and dedication have led to remarkable achievements, including the establishment and ongoing coordination of the highly successful REV Day for Good initiative.
Under Nix’s guidance, REV recognizes the importance of giving back by closing its doors on every Indigenous Peoples’ Day. This commitment provides REV employees throughout the Carolinas with the opportunity to volunteer their time and skills in support of local communities. In 2023 alone, REV employees donated over 1300+ hours of their time, making a significant impact on 23 nonprofit organizations.
“There’s no better example of REV’s commitment to serving our members and the community than Kelly,” said Chief Operating Officer Tara Smith. “She has dedicated her time and talents to improving the lives of those around her, and we are incredibly proud of how consistently she demonstrates the spirit, values, and impact of community service.”
Nix’s passion for social equity has positioned her as one of the top community engagement spokespeople and influential figures at REV. She recently spearheaded the creation of the #UpTheGood Foundation as REV expands its philanthropic footprint, demonstrating her resolute commitment to consistently creating a meaningful impact in all her endeavors.
Beyond her professional contributions, Nix actively supports several organizations, including the American Heart Association Lowcountry Heart Walk, MUSC Children’s Hospital, Happy Wheels, and Meals on Wheels, among others. Her personal dedication has resulted in a contribution of over 240 hours of her own time to these organizations.
The Carolinas Credit Union Foundation Individual Achievement Award, established in 2014, recognizes individuals who have made significant and innovative contributions to the credit union community.
