Sb1 Federal Credit Union forms internal “Go Green” committee

PHILADELPHIA, PA (May 13, 2015) — Sb1 Federal Credit Union has formed a “Go Green” committee to help reduce the credit union’s overall carbon footprint, improve the workplace environment, and encourage other businesses to go green.

Sb1 has already begun producing a monthly, electronic, employee newsletter featuring “Go Green” updates for work and home.

“We’ve given our employees new ways to think about the environment,” stated Rob Werner, Sb1 Federal Credit Union President and CEO. “We’ve eliminated Styrofoam cups in the workplace, begun using electronic signature pads in the branches, and are looking to add more plants in the office. We’ve even added the words “Go Green” on everyone’s energy-saving screen saver.”

The Philadelphia based credit union has begun a member-facing campaign to increase electronic statement usage as well. Members earn $10 when they switch from paper statements to eStatements. In addition, a Shred Event was scheduled where members could bring sensitive documents to 2 convenient locations to be shredded and properly recycled.

Sb1 plans to further integrate the Go Green initiative, working toward a more carbon-neutral work and business environment.
