St. Lawrence Federal pledges $15,000 to Richard E. Winter Cancer Treatment Center

OGDENSBURG, NY (June  9, 2015) — St. Lawrence Federal Credit Union (SLFCU) has pledged $15,000 to help pay for an addition to the Richard E. Winter Cancer Treatment Center at the Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center (CHMC). The donation will be made over the next three years.

St. Lawrence Federal Credit Union CEO, Todd Mashaw said, “St. Lawrence Federal is delighted to make this pledge to help CHMC continue to offer the highest-quality cancer treatment options. It is part of our mission to support our community and there is no better way to do so than by contributing to improve our healthcare system.”

Jerry Sheppard, director of the Richard E. Winter Cancer Treatment Center said, “We are grateful to St. Lawrence Federal for helping us reach our fundraising goal and ensuring that Claxton-Hepburn maintains the highest level of technology and expertise with the broadest array of services in the region. We thank St. Lawrence and our other friends in the community for supporting our mission of providing excellent care for people when they need it most.”

Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center broke ground on the $4.7 million addition to the Richard E. Winter Cancer Treatment Center last fall. This is the second major expansion of the Cancer Center since it first opened in 1994, and will be the first phase of a series of capital projects with an overarching capital campaign called “Together…Our Health, Our Future.”
