Save, spend, & share: Financial Literacy Month

The National Credit Union Foundation encouraged all credit unions to organize an event  in order to partake in celebration of financial fitness day. Credit unions could partake by either wearing jeans/casual attire to work, hosting a bake sale, or donating to help fund financial literacy initiatives. In addition, they were encouraged to showcase their work at their local branch by using #financialfitnessday on Twitter.

Financial fitness day also kicks off the month of April which is National Financial Literacy month. “This year Financial Fitness Day happens to fall on April Fool’s Day, but financial education is no joke,” said Danielle Brown, Foundation Director of Development and Donor Relations.”
