The CUInsight Experience podcast: Antonio Neves – Rediscover you (#102)

“There is always opportunity in change.” - Antonio Neves

Thank you for tuning in to season 3, episode 102 of The CUInsight Experience podcast, with your host, Randy Smith, co-founder of CUInsight.com. This episode is brought to you by our friends at PSCU. As the nation’s premier payments CUSO, PSCU proudly supports the success of more than 1,500 credit unions.

My first guest of Season 3 is Antonio Neves. Antonio is an internationally recognized leadership speaker, author, podcaster, and success coach and was our first keynote in the CUInsight mini-con series we launched last November. Because of the craziness, we called 2020. I wanted to get back to basics and share the stories of how leaders in our movement got to where they are and what lessons they have learned. Antonio is the first guest of the season because of his presentation at REFUEL, and since I knew I was going to reference his speech over and over, I figured we might as well hear it directly from him.

Listen as Antonio shares how he had to pivot in his career to accommodate and excel in the pandemic. He expresses the unexpected gift he received by working and being able to stay home with his family and the importance of truly and deeply reconnecting with those he cares about.

Antonio believes that if you miss the spark in your life, you need to think about what you stopped doing that got you where you are today. He explains that it is important to identify what is the most important.  Antonio also discusses ‘dream jobs’ and not attaching an identity to your profession, but be ready to endorse yourself if someone should ask.

We finish up with rapid-fire questions and learn that Antonio was a jock in high school. The best album of all time is The Tribe Called Quest, The Low End Theory, and his father Al Neves is the first person who comes to mind when he hears the word success. Antonio believes there is such power in choosing how to show up with amazing ideas and thoughts that we can all learn from. Enjoy!
