The pros and cons of spring
Spring means baseball and grilling out. Those two reasons alone are pretty much all I need to justify my belief that spring is the best. If you’re thinking that I once said “fall is the best,” I probably did, but we’re not talking about fall so let’s move on. All seasons have their ups and downs, so let’s focus on the pros and cons of spring…
PRO: We get to finally be social again. I met most of my neighbors when I moved into my new house last spring, but then cold weather eventually hit and now I can’t remember any of their names. I need to start writing this stuff down. I did binge watch quite a few tv shows during that time though (and my Tigers won the natty!), but that’s more of pro for winter. Anyway, the point is fresh air and conversations are good for the soul, so soak it up while you can. If you live anywhere near the same latitude as I do, summer will probably come early and it’ll then be too hot to do anything outside.
CON: Pollen is the worst. If pollen was a person, they’d be shunned. I cut my grass for the first time two weeks ago and then was basically a zombie for the next two days. Side note: If you’re one of those people who believes in switching up your allergy medication so that your body doesn’t get used to a certain brand, don’t switch in April-May. Huge mistake. You’ll regret it more than that time you bought sushi at a 7-Eleven.
PRO: It’s truly the best time to get in shape. A lot of people enjoy making their New Year’s Resolutions every year, but if your resolution is running, it’s destined to fail unless you have a treadmill or a gym membership. If you’d prefer to strap on your Nikes and run around your neighborhood, you’re more likely to succeed if you want until the weather is nice. Try 7pm on a spring evening. It’s good stuff.
CON: THERE ARE NO OTHER CONS. Spring is awesome! Did I mention baseball and grilling out? Okay yard work isn’t my favorite, but it’s way worse in the summer so we won’t harp on that right now. Enjoy the rest of your spring!
